The Bubble Hour seeks to inform, educate and help people identify with the stories they hear, the conversations and interviews with people who are just like they are, and let people know they aren't alone. Nobody can take the first tentative steps towards sobriety without first getting past denial, but even once they are past denial the stigma.
Guests include people in recovery sharing their story, loved ones/family members of people in the recovery community, medical and mental health experts, life coaches, authors, filmmakers and many more.
We are so grateful for the sober people who came before them to help them find this path; this is one way they feel they can give back.
Please help us spread the word about this website and the podcast; you may be helping someone you know well but don't even know they have a problem.
Alcoholism thrives in the dark. Together, we bring light. And hope.

I am in awe of the synergistic energy between the two of you - two amazing and inspiring women I have come to know and love through Crying Out Now and The Booze-Free-Brigade Group. To witness the genius behind the bubble concept(along with the humor that is so healing, too) and the collaboration that took off like lightening and then materialized here is beyond inspiring. (When do you sleep????) I know that so many will find hope and connection and a way out of isolation and fear from the stories that are shared by real people. Thank you for investing your time and energy into this project. I'm so excited to see it grow and to listen to each podcast! Love, Christine
ReplyDeleteThank you, Christine! We didn't even know people could leave comments here until tonight, so sorry for the delayed thank you! :) Your support and encouragement mean the world to us, truly!

I just wanted to let you know that listening to your show has been very helpful to me. I've listened to your show drunk, hungover and as of the past 45 days sober!! It's taught me a lot about myself, brought me to tears at times and most importantly let me know that I'm not alone. I appreciate your positive and honest approach to recovery. Even though I'm not a woman or a parent I can relate to your stories and experiences. Despite our differences, I think we are more the same then we are different. If you're ever having an off moment and questioning why you do this, please know that you're reaching people who are very grateful that the three of you take the time to do your show!

Thank you so much for your comment, Jason. I am so sorry for the delay in replying to your message - I am just seeing it now. It means so much to us to know that we are helping people, men and women, because as you said, inside we are very much the same. Your support means the world to us.

Wow, I just saw your reply now! I'm still going at 1108 days sober. I don't listen that often anymore but I'll never forget how much listening to your show helped me when I was first starting out.
DeleteI came here today to find links to some shows to share with someone that is just starting out. I hope it helps them as much as it helped me.

I'm just beginning my sober journey after years of heavy drinking. I'm scared to death, but I know quitting is my only option. The Bubble Hour has been so helpful. I'm so grateful to have found this resource. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteWe are so glad to be part of your recovery. Please let us know how you are doing. You're not alone!
DeleteDidn't know where to post this comment. Just want to say I miss Ellie's posts so much from One Crafty Mother and updates from Crying Out Now. Just want her to know that there are people out 'there' who miss her.
ReplyDeleteBev, thank you so much for your love and support!

Listening to your podcast today about getting through early recovery, a book was mentioned that deals with sobriety bloggers. Mmthe hosts were laughing--they indicated it was humorous. I did not catch the title/author. Could you help me with this? Wren1450@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteHi Wren - I will have to go back and listen. I will let you know! You have been patiently waiting for an answer for over a month - so sorry!
ReplyDeleteWow I just found this site by reading a comment on another blog. So much stuff here to go through! Thanks and keep up the awesome work.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're with us, Eden!
ReplyDeleteI can only say one thing right now..... You ladies are inspiring me to save my own life. Day 3 and shaking like an earthquake, tornado of a headache, Tsunami of tumultuous nausea, and thoughts flowing so rapidly like a mind blowing hurricane sweeping wildly through my head.
ReplyDeleteThe perfect storm, I guess!
I say that because it is the storm, I am told, that will get me to a safe, peaceful, happier, sane and healthier place called The Land Sobriety.
I choose not to go more than an hour without listening to you ladies. I need to listen.
I thank you from the depths of my heart and soul for bringing this wisdom to all of us that choose to listen and choose life in recovery.

Your Podcasts have been so helpful to me! I love to listen to them while I create my artwork about my own journeys in and out of recovery (http://www.beckyc.com). Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteThere is a large focus on alcohol in your programming and little mention of drugs or substitutes. What constitutes sobriety? And recovery? - A curious listener
ReplyDeleteI am so glad I found this show - day 7 for me, the longest wine free period in 10 years. Something has clicked this time and I have approached an alcohol counsellor - scary, shame, you name it - but also feels kind of exciting, the beginning of a journey of hope and promise. I love that you feel like me, mid life, intelligent, working and not at all how some would imagine people with an alcohol issue. Thank you so much.
