The Booze Free Brigade (Facebook Group) -

Women (and Men) who are creating better lives for ourselves and our families by letting go of booze. Are you scared? Are you embarrassed? Are you not even convinced you have a problem but would like to explore it further? Is there a nagging voice in your heart of hearts that is telling you something's wrong? This is a great place to start. You don't have to do this alone.

And if you have time behind you, this is a great place to lend support to others who could use your wisdom!

To join, send a friend request to "Elizabeth Cloud" with a message that you'd like to join and she will extend you an invitation. The Group is a "secret" group, which means nothing you post there, or even the fact that you are a member of this group, is visible on your regular FB page. Some people set up alternate FB accounts and then request to join (you will need an alternate email) to ensure their privacy. This group is not based on any specific method of recovery, but rather a group of supportive, compassionate people who all want to get sober or maintain sobriety.

  1. For those interested in trying a stint without booze, there is this also an awesome community called Hello Sunday Morning (http://hellosundaymorning.org) where people blog about their experiences about taking an extended break from alcohol. It is an amazing free resource. Check it out!

    1. There should be instructions on how to join the Facebook page over on the Yahoo chat site. The FB page is secret so there is a process.

  3. In addition to leaning heavily on Women for Sobriety in my first year off the sauce, I also stumbled upon Coach.me. It's a goal-tracking app that offers individual coaching in various goals. After using the app for many months, I'm now actively coaching others in the "No Alcohol" forum. It's a really supportive community. https://www.coach.me/plans/959-no-alcohol
